1972
When Stewart Spinks founded The Spinx Company in 1972, he had a vision far beyond becoming a gasoline and convenience store leader. He wanted to develop a dynamic and diverse environment where hard-working teammates could achieve their potential and have fun doing it.
With more than 80+ stores and counting in the Carolinas, we are constantly growing and raising the bar for exceptional customer service. We provide a culture based on living our core values, which drive success for the company and individual team members.
2022
The core values we embrace and live by are Customer Focused, Team Oriented, Passionate, Committed to Quality, Community Centric and Accountable. We serve and give back to the community in many ways to charitable organizations near and dear to us, including the March of Dimes and the American Cancer Society. In 2022, we donated more than 2,300 meals from the Cluk Truk, our food truck, to a dozen area charities.
In addition, the Spinx Company helps the community through the Spinks Family Foundation. Our founder is known for his generous spirit, and he established the Spinks Family Foundation to support organizations that share a passion for the community.
Making Life Easier
Our philanthropic focus is growing strong and healthy communities where we live, work and play. We want to touch the lives of people in our communities and bring a little extra happiness to them and their families.
We also extend that desire to our teammates. They are the reason we received the prestigious recognition of the Best Place to Work in South Carolina.
At Spinx, we have more than 1,600 teammates, and we welcome more to join our team as we continue the mission we began 50 years ago of “making life easier.”

In August 2022, we were honored with the #1 Best Place to Work distinction in South Carolina. Our teammates voted us the Best Place to Work in a survey conducted by SC Biz News and its partners. As our esteemed founder Stewart Spinks stated, “Recognized as the #1 Best Place to Work in South Carolina is one of the biggest honors we have been given over the past 50 years.” In December 2022, we marked 50 years of “making life easier” for the community and each other. As we continue our mission, expanding throughout the Carolinas, we thank our team members for their engagement, dedication, and commitment.
